About Project

The "Human Organoids" project of the Takebe Laboratory is conducting the following three major research goal using miniature organs, aka "organoids," from human stem cells such as induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells): (1) Understanding the mechanism of organogenesis, (2) Developing models that reflect real organs, and (3) Translating technologies into biomedical application. Herein, at Miraikan's unique environment, we will introduce a citizen science approach in organoid research. Our hope is to harness community wisdom to think through differently and bring different perspectives into cutting-edge stem cell and organoid science.

Message from Research Director

Fun part of science is repeating cycle of ideation and invention. These processes are fully open for anybody who has curiosity to learn and change. Throughout Miraikan's program, we love to share our thoughts, and interact with citizens and conduct the simplest experiment that may be the most critical. Looking forward to working with poeple under extremely diverse backgrounds !
