This program was created based on poet Shuntaro Tanikawa's proposal to design a planetarium show that connects the nights of the world through sound and poetry, making viewers feel as if they are actually present in that place at night. Tanikawa-san himself was deeply involved in the composition and direction.
The program recreates night scenes from six locations around the world through realistic starry skies projected by the "MEGASTAR-II cosmos" planetarium projector. It is complete with immersive environmental sounds from each location captured through field recording. Guided by Tanikawa-san's self-selected poems, including newly written pieces, viewers journey through the nights of the world. This work can be described as a "nocturnal collage" connecting various locations, reminiscent of the masterpiece "Morning Relay." Please enjoy this timeless planetarium experience that feels like a single poem.
