The Creation of "Future Health" With Everyone
Organoids are miniature versions of organs created in test tubes from human cells such as induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. Using these organoids with a diameter of 0.1 to 0.2 mm, we are exploring the mechanisms of how organs are formed and discovering new medical approaches. At Miraikan, we conduct a citizen-participatory research project, to find how liver health is linked to various factors such as genetics, lifestyle, and wellbeing of each individual.
Citizen-participatory research holds great value to complement our research. We envision the next healthcare technology “Future Health” lives through collaborative investigation with diverse people, and aim to make this “Future Health” broadly accessible, inclusive and equitable.

Fun part of science is repeating cycle of ideation and invention. These processes are fully open for anybody who has curiosity to learn and change. Throughout Miraikan's program, we love to share our thoughts, and interact with citizens and conduct the simplest experiment that may be the most critical. Looking forward to working with poeple under extremely diverse backgrounds !
