(Architect)


Born in 1941. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, University of Tokyo in 1965.Ito’s major works include Sendai Mediatheque, Tama Art University Library (Hachioji Campus), and National Taiwan University, College of Social Sciences.He has received the Architecture Institute of Japan Award, Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale, Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Pritzker Architecture Prize, etc. In 2011, Ito established a small private architectural school “ITO JUKU” (Initiative for Tomorrow’s Opportunities in Architecture), which organizes various activities that encourage participants to consider the future of cities and architecture.

CEO of teamLab Inc., an "ultra technologist group." He established teamLab Inc. when he graduated from the Department of Mathematical Engineering and Information Physics, School of Engineering, University of Tokyo, in 2001. He majored in probability and statistical models at the university, and natural language processing and art at the graduate school.

Ingo Günther is German born, New York based journalist and new media artist credited with pioneering the use of mapping and data visualizations in both art and journalism. His award-winning work has been shown in over 20 countries and is in the permanent collection of several global institutions and museums. His Worldprocessor series of planetary data reality has been a series of cinematographic maps for Geo-Cosmos.

Jeff Mills evolves from the American culture of electronic music. He started his career with his own radio show on the Detroit local stations WDRQ 93FM and WJLB 98FM, and earned his early infamous reputation by his exploring the artform of Djing. After he created his own record label, Axis Records, he was involved in numerous projects such as the creation of a new score for Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis,” the groundbreaking collaboration and concert with the Montpellier National Orchestra, the commission to create a contemporary installation for 100 Year Anniversary of the "Futurist Manifesto" at the Pompidou Centre,Paris, and so on.

shirakawa.pngHideki Shirakawa
(Nobel Prize in Chemistry, chemist)


Born in 1936.Specialized in polymer chemistry.Winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for "the discovery and development of conductive polymers" on October 2000.He is a Professor emeritus at University of Tsukuba and a member of the Japan Academy. The display panels of The Geo-Cosmos utilize organic electro luminescence, which is an application of conductive polymer technology (Prof. Shirakawa's field of study).

Yoshikatsu Date is a leading CG movie producer for TV programs. He has created CG movies for numerous TV series, including NHK Special and historical fiction dramas. He has also developed virtual studios and real-time computer graphics.

His career started as an art director for CD covers and book covers. He later started to produce movies after his friend, a musician, asked him to shoot a music video for him. He now mainly produces movies, including commercials, music videos and short films. His field of activity has been also expanded to other genres, such as planning for websites and graphics..

He is a graduate of the Design Interaction Programme of Royal College of Art, U.K. After working at Sony Corporation, he joined a London-based artist group, tomato.
He published interactive creations in the fields of internet advertising and corporate identity.
His activities as an individual also range from art to writing and education.
He moved his base from London to Tokyo in spring 2011, and took the chair of Executive Creative Director at Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo.

Born in 1948. Doctor of Science. He was an assistant professor of Hokkaido University and was selected as the first Japanese astronaut in 1985.
When he flew aboard the space shuttle Endeavor in 1992 and 2000, he conducted some space experiments and data collection for the creation of a 3D land map of the Earth.
In 2000, he took the chair of the first Chief Executive Director of Miraikan. He also boarded Shinkai 6500 in 2003 to conduct scientific experiments. In the same year, he broadcast a total eclipse of the sun at the South Pole.
In 2011, he started the "TSUNAGARI" project. His field of study includes fusion material science, vacuum science, space experiments, and science communication.
