This contest started in 2014 with the ambition to pioneer new possibilities and expressions with the Geo-Cosmos, the symbolic exhibition of Miraikan. Since the Geo-Cosmos has a spherical shape, it has no concept of “front,” and it allows viewers to watch an image from any angle. The Geo-Cosmos offers new possibilities for expressions that are different from traditional visual expressions.
This year, Miraikan held the second edition of the contest and accepted visual works created under the theme of “Time on the Globe,” from June 10 (Wed.) to August 17 (Mon.). Those selected in the contest will be shown according to the following schedule. We hope you will come and visit Miraikan to feel the future and the possibilities of visual expressions the creators have drawn on the canvas of Geo-Cosmos.
