自立式電波塔として世界一の高さを誇る東京スカイツリーの建設。それは「地震大国日本の、大都市の真ん中に、超高層タワーをたてる」という難問を、これまで積み重ねた知恵と技術、そして新しい発想を掛け合わせて、なんとかして解ききるというプロジェクトでした。
建設時、まるで生きているかのように、ニョキニョキと上に向って成長していく東京スカイツリーは、毎日多くの人に見守られ、東日本大震災にびくともせずに完成し、日本の技術力に対する自信と、未来の街のシンボルとなりました。

The construction of Tokyo Skytree, the world’s tallestfree-standing broadcasting tower, was a challenging project of “building an ultra-tall tower in the center of a big city of Japan, the country prone to earthquakes.” That challenge was met through the accumulated expertise and technologies plus new ideas. While it was being constructed, the tower which kept growing rapidly as if it were alive attracted attention of many people every day and was completed without being affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. It has since become the symbol of confidence in Japanese technology and also the symbol of the future city.
