“A Connected World”
Students from Perth, Australia, talk about happiness and other benefits coming from being connected with the rest of the world.
Scenarios | AUSTRALIA
John Curtin College of the Arts
As Perth is one of the most isolated cities in the world, the feeling of being connected is very important for the happiness of its citizens. These connections may be realized in many different ways. Using objects like cars, trains or airplanes, we can change our location, and share our experiences with other people directly through our physical presence. Or we can take advantage of modern information technology, and connect virtually through sharing information.
The benefits of being connected go beyond the needs of an individual. The whole country can benefit from being connected with the rest of the world. The wealth coming from the international trade with other countries, for example, may be invested back in the society, raising the standard of living and contributing to the happiness of all people.
Motivation behind this scenario
As citizens of one of the most isolated cities in the world, connectedness contributes greatly to our everyday happiness. Through this video, we would like other people to become more aware of the role connections play in our lives, and appreciate the benefits it brings us all.
