The "Exploration of Time" exhibition, which has traveled to Mexico, Poland, and Hong Kong, in addition to being displayed throughout Japan, will be featured at the "Kitakyushu Innovation Gallery & Studio (Kitakyushu Industrial Technology Aggregation & Preservation Center)" in Fukuoka prefecture.

T In April 2007, based on the theme of "innovation," the Kitakyushu Innovation Gallery & Studio (KIGS) opened in Yahata-Higashida, the first site of steel manufacturing in modern Japan. The gallery implements various activities, including events and exhibitions, in order to foster the development of new innovations. The new technological advancements always incorporate the wisdom of Kitakyushu pioneers of the past, who made various discoveries by integrating technology with design, into development for the future. Various hands-on events, such as lectures about technological innovation and a design and craft workshop which can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages are available throughout the year.

- The Purpose of this Special Exhibition -
The concept of this exhibition is "exploration" through the world of "time," the aspects of which are diversified through scientific analysis. The exhibition will invite audiences to depart from their daily concepts based on time measurement technology (the clock), and to discover a new concept of different kind of "time" which exists in life, substance, on the Earth, and in the universe. This exhibition is filled with hands-on exhibits which can be enjoyed by all ages.
Exploration of Time is organized in collaboration with scientific advisers from the Research Institute for Time Studies of Yamaguchi University, whose researchers are gathered from various fields. Plus, young artists and musicians collaborated with scientists and researchers to create this unique exhibition.
