<The History of Google Maps and Street View>
This exhibit showcases the evolution of Google's maps services over the last 8 years. The interactive displays show the background, development process, and progress of the Google maps service over time through images and video taken throughout the years. The Street View car, trolley, and other tools and technology backing Street View are also on display, in addition to the multi-screen 360 degree Liquid Galaxy display using Google Earth technology.
<Doodle 4 Google - 100 Years into the Future, General Voting>
On special anniversary dates, birthdays of accomplished people, and other special days, the Google top page logo design changes to meet the occasion. These special limited-time Google logos are called "Doodles".
Currently, Google is running its 4th annual "Doodle 4 Google", a doodle (Google logo) design contests for students of elementary to high school age. This year, we received over 100,000 doodle submissions from all over Japan on the theme of "100 Years into the Future", of which 40 finalist drawings were selected to be put on display for general public voting. You can see these 40 doodles and vote on the ones you like best for the Grand Prix award at this exhibit. You can also enjoy various science-themed and interactive doodles that have run on the Google homepage in the past.
