Guest : Dr. Pichai Sonchaeng (President of National Science Musuem, Thailand)
Mr. Sakorn Chanapaithoon (Vice President of National Science Musuem, Thailand)
Dr. Pichai Sonchaeng, President of the National Science Musuem of Thailand, Mr. Sakorn Chanapaithoon, Vice President of the National Science Museum of Thailand, and six others visited Miraikan. In a talk with Dr. Mamoru Mohri, Chief Executive Director of Miraikan, the visitors had a discussion about the future role of science museums. Dr. Pichai expressed his full agreement with the explanation given by Dr. Mohri that it is necessary to tackle questions that cannot be answered with scientific knowledge alone.
At the exhibition venue, the visitors talked with the science communicator riding the UNI-CUB, a personal mobility device currently under a joint demonstration experiment at Miraikan, about the operation method and future use of the device. They also showed interest in the fact that Miraikan is collecting ideas about the future of the UNI-CUB from visitors, and conveying them to the developers of the vehicle.
In a short time I was able to see them exploring inside Miraikan very eagerly. As two Asian countries making efforts for the promotion of science and technology, I would like to further deepen the cooperative relationship between us.
