The year 2011 will welcome the 20th year commemorating the opening of diplomatic relations between Japan, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. On this occassion, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan invited persons in charge of the science and technology policies of these three Baltic countries. As a part of an exchange and tour of the related institutions, they visited Miraikan.
In the meeting with Chief Executive Director Mamoru Mohri of the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, they exchanged opinions regarding science communication, which is the main activity of Miraikan, and collaboration between researchers.
In addition, lively exchanges took place as they showed great interest toward the "TSUNAGARI" Project, which will open on March 19. After the meeting they visited the exhibition site with the guidance of a Miraikan Science Communicator. A new link was created between the Baltic countries and Miraikan.
