Exhibition Space
The exhibition space put together with logs and hemp string forms a simple, natural and close impression. Exhibits located distantly and moving audiences will float as they are folded together through the wall and the entire space will compose a single exhibit scene. The scenes will change by the minute and new scenery will be created as you move ahead. The experience will remind you of traditional houses and the architecture of temples in Japan.
The unit "assistant," with Megumi Matsubara and Hiroi Ariyama, is in charge of the art direction of the total Special Exhibition starting with the design of the exhibition space and each exhibits. They are active in a wide field such as space, architecture, art and interactive media. They are highly evaluated young architects who actively express their free creative ideas as they firmly grasp the basic concepts and message.
"Eating" is something fun. It also plays an important role in the ideas of happiness and living.
That is why people know a lot about what it means to "eat." Everybody understands that eating is important but if you could slightly change your perspective towards its importance, you might find things that are new to you or things that might have been forgotten.
Based on that concept, this time they have eliminated all things that are unnecessary or decorative so that visitors can only focus on the main point in a given space that triggers ideas concerning the attraction of "eating." In addition to this, they aim for all exhibits to be entertaining as visitors can understand each topic based on their senses and experiences. Please come visit and enjoy.
