Introduction

WHAT DO WE EAT EVERYDAY?

Now that food related issues are a major societal concern, we believe this question is growing in importance, especially in the present day. If we don’t know what we eat, and what we derive from eating, true peace of mind and happiness might never be achievable.

In this special exhibition, we will present a view of food from the perspective of cutting-edge science and technology. It is very complex and cannot be solved with a single viewpoint. It’s not just a matter of taste or fragrance. There are many other points we have to take into consideration, including food production efficiency, food quality and safety, health, the finite nature of our planet’s resources, as well as regionality and cultural background. We hope this exhibition will shake our current "common sense" and create a new point of view.

At the same time, this exhibition will probably trigger various food-related thoughts and memories among those who come to see it. We eat every day, and the food we eat creates our bodies and our minds. For that very reason, regardless of what we eat, or regardless of what food looks like, there is a value that should be respected and loved.

With deep prayer for a future where everyone on earth can utter the happy word “Delicious!”, we have developed this exhibition to seek the true meaning of “Delicious!” and to show how science and technology can contribute to it.

Remember the “delicious moments”!
