CO2 Concentration Past and Present

The map shows the carbon dioxide distribution observed by ground-based observation stations over last three decades. Many researchers indicate that the increasing of the CO2 concentration is caused by the use of fossil beginning with the Industrial Revolution.

The Land Cover shows how 20 types of land are classified based on data observed by the artificial satellite "Terra." Although urban areas where many people live only make up a part of the Earth, people's lives have an impact on the change in the land cover around the globe.
