Up to this point, the "Beyond Fibers" Exhibition, which traveled to 17 places including international sites such as Australia, South Korea and Singapore, has become a permanent exhibit at the Faculty of Textile Science and Technology of Shinshu University. The Faculty of Textile Science and Technology of Shinshu University celebrated its 100th anniversary since its establishment from the former Ueda Sericultural Vocational School. As a part of its memorial project for its 100th anniversary, the Faculty of Textile Science and Technology Resource Center was opened along with the opening of this permanent exhibition. With this, it has become possible to see the fiber technology of the "Past, Current, Future" at the same time. The general release of this exhibition is scheduled until April 30 (Fri.). However, after that, it will be released periodically during summer vacation and other occasions.

<The Purpose of this Special Exhibition>
Fibers generally present an image of being composed of threads and fabrics such as they have been from ancient times. However, utilizing its characteristics of flexibility and strength, fibers have been actively used in the field of cutting-edge science and technology, which is far from their typical use as articles of clothing. Advanced fibers are used in such diverse fields as medical science, space development, recycling-based products, and sports.
