<The Purpose of this Special Exhibition>
Now, Earth's environment is rapidly changing due to the activities of the human race. The issue for us is no longer "how are we going to protect the earth," it has become "how are we going to survive." This Special Exhibition introduces various engagements related to science and technology that correspond to the "protect and survive" concerns. Whether we are able to make good use of science and technology, share the results, and apply technology while avoiding the associated risks will all depend on our wisdom. At the time this exhibition premiered two years ago at Miraikan, the world's population was 6.5 billion. Today, it is said that the population of our planet exceeds 6.7 billion. China, with the world's largest population, is a country where 1/5 of the world's people live and is a country that continues to grow in population and influence at a remarkable rate.
