Notice for the release of Japan's first All Sky super high precision 3D image system "Atmos" and a new program "BIRTHDAY - What Links the Universe and Me -"
Starting January 10 (Sat.), 2009, Japan's first All Sky super high precision 3D image system "Atmos" will be introduced and available for public viewing at the 6F Dome Theater GAIA, complete with a new program "BIRTHDAY - What Links the Universe and Me -" as created by MEGASTAR-II cosmos and Atmos. Images that simulate reality to the point where you can feel the surrounding air and warmth in the atmosphere are brought to you by the 4K x 4K (high resolution equivalent to eight times of full HD) digital images projected by the "Atmos" system. The 3D images of "Atmos" combined with the fixed stars of MEGASTAR-II cosmos (an amazing record setting 5 million fixed stars recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records), will present us with an astoundingly realistic universe.
The first program, "BIRTHDAY - What Links the Universe and Me -" is based on the simple but yet profound theme of "what is the universe and how are we linked". Miraikan's Science Communicator will provide detailed explanations on this existential point. Two programs, the "Live program," with explanations provided live as the topic for each occasion is added, and the "Auto Program" will be shown. (Run time: Approx. 20 min.)
