At the Earth Environment area, we consider, with our visitors, what must be done to prevent Earth's environmental destruction. Furthermore, we will introduce research that aims to explore frontiers untouched by humans such as outer space and the deep sea.

Earth Environment and Me
Because Earth's serious environmental problems are so often publicized, people who are confused by excessive and complex information are great in number. The new permanent exhibit "Earth Environment and Me" clarifies the reality as it appropriately positions various environmental issues affecting Earth examined through a scientific viewpoint and introduces what can be done with science and technology to solve the problem in an understandable way. In addition to this, as environmental problems are covered from various aspects, we will think about the ideal future society together along with visitors.
- *Watching the Present Earth

In looking back at the 4.6 billion years' history of the earth, the last ten thousand years up to today after the last Ice Age was a time when the climate was miraculously stable. This zone introduces the marked change of the global environment, and recognizes that human civilization flourished thanks to the stability of the environment.
- *Finding the Origin

The explosive prosperity and expanding activities of human beings cause extreme damage to the material cycle, and throw its balance into disorder. This zone explains the basic causes of the different problems we are now facing in terms of the material cycle.
- *Designing Future

Various technologies have been developed to recover the balance of the material cycle and to build a sustainable society. This zone introduces what science and technology can do to solve environmental issues. For example, an energy production method which emits no carbon dioxide and recycling industrial technologies are presented.
- *Talking among community

Environmental issues should be discussed from various perspectives apart from science and technology. This Zone introduces different opinions about environmental issues using digital content so that visitors can think about the issues from multiple points of view such as economy, policies, and daily life. This Zone also provides an area where visitors can voice their opinions about the environmental issues around them.
