Date:Wednesday, October 31, 2007
Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister of State for Okinawa and Northern Territories Affairs, Science and Technology Policy, has visited Miraikan. The minister viewed the exhibits of cutting-edge science and technology such as the "explanations of the simulation of greenhouse effect of the Geo-Cosmos" and "deep sea drilling vessel, CHIKYU" within the museum. As Minister Kishida received explanations on the project entitled "Daily Activity Sensing for the Prevention of Accidents and the Fundamental Technology of Computation Theory Project," he eagerly asked questions to the person in charge and spent a good deal of quality time at the museum.
In addition to this, at the meeting for exchange with the science communicators held after the inspection, lively interaction was made with the five science communicators that are active at Miraikan. As the minister presented his opinions on the importance of the enhancement of the people's understanding toward science and technology, he carefully listened to the voices of the communicators who work on the frontlines.
